About Budhan

Named after Budhn Sabar, a DNT killed under police atrocity in West Bengal, the Budhan newsleter was launched by Mahasveta Devi and Ganesh Devy to voice the human rights issues of the dentified and nomadic communities of India. Published in English and Hindi, Budhan reached out to various ministries, judiciary, NHRC, media, writers and civil society. Budhan played a significant role in shaping the Denotified and Nomadic Tribes Movement in the Country.

The newsletter was discontinued when the Government of India invited a move to bring about policy reforms for these communities.
